The brief descriptions below are designed to familiarize you with our staff's training, professional credentials and work experience.

Stewart M. Kamen, DPM
Dr. Kamen earned a Bachelor of Science degree in biology at the State University of New York at Stony Brook, and completed his graduate medical training at the New York College of Podiatric Medicine.  Dr. Kamen is certified in foot surgery by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery, a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons, and a member of the professional section of the American Diabetes Association.

During his residency at New York Methodist Hospital, Dr. Kamen learned to employ the multidisciplinary approach in managing the complex needs of the diabetic patient at risk for limb loss.  Subsequently, he has lectured to the medical community on diabetic limb salvage.  Dr. Kamen has served on the voluntary staff of the New York City marathon, and works with athletes in helping them to understand their personal biomechanics, and treating their injuries to keep them at their peak performance levels. Whether correcting a painful or unsightly deformity, assisting the athlete to continue to perform at their desired level, or helping a diabetic patient to avoid infection and amputation, Dr. Kamen is passionate about each of his patient’s individual needs.

Dr. Kamen holds an academic appointment at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons in the department of Orthopaedic Surgery, and is appointed to the surgical staff of Lawrence Hospital Center.

Dr. Kamen spends his leisure time skiing, hiking, and swimming with his family, and enjoys being a soccer coach for his children.
